Our Main Mission for the PTC
Training and equipping indigenous men to be better teachers and preachers of the Word of God, and shepherding the flock that has been entrusted to their care is key for our Pastor’s Training Center (PTC) in West Africa!
One of the biggest anticipations we are looking forward to is the beginning of the PTC in Benin, West Africa. It is strategically placed right in the middle of where SOS is pioneer church planting. With Nigeria to the East, and Togo to the West, the PTC in Benin sits right in the middle of these three countries. Indigenous men who have come to faith in Christ, been baptized and discipled, have the calling of God to be an elder/pastor in the new churches that are planted — these are the men that are invited to be trained and equipped at the PTC. Not only is it our aim to equip them to be better teachers of the Scriptures and shepherds of the flock, but that they would also learn to lead by and set a good example for church members, as well as in their communities and districts they live in.

The location of the PTC has been amply supplied: 10-ft. perimeter wall around the entire property, a hospitality house where the SOS director of Benin lives with his wife (Victor and Jean), a building with multiple classrooms, a dormitory that will house all of the students, a separate structure that serves as a church building, and a water well and two large generators. We praise God for the provision of all of this! Not to mention that we are completely self-sufficient with all that is in place, controlling our own water and electrical source is huge!
Please pray with us that the Lord God would use this center to revolutionize the way indigenous men teach and lead many infant churches that have been planted in a very dark and lost land.
